Special Projects for Founders + Private Clients
Spend less time in the weeds. More time building.
As businesses evolve, more and more finds its way back to the founder. Ideas that need exploring. Challenges that need untangling. Important projects that don't fit neatly into anyone else's role. Information gets harder to find, decisions take longer, and too much depends on one person to keep everything moving.
Willoughby Well takes on work that needs dedicated thought, ownership, and momentum—whether that's exploring an opportunity, moving an important project forward, solving a business challenge, or finding a better way for the business to carry the work.
I listen closely, see the bigger picture, connect the dots, and help move the work from idea to action.
I've spent the last 20 years helping organizations get clear on what matters and how to move forward, including years spent behind the scenes helping build and run a founder-led research and strategy business.
What I loved most was creating structure where it was needed, taking things off the founder's plate, and making sure the business could keep moving while they focused on the work they were uniquely there to do.
That's the perspective I bring to my work with founders today. Sometimes that means stepping into an important project and moving it forward. Other times, it means looking at how the business itself could work better.
That's where Intelligent Workflows comes in. AI is creating new possibilities for smaller businesses to organize knowledge, improve how work gets done, and build intelligent support without the teams and resources that once required.
Every engagement begins with The Listening™—a collaborative working session where I learn how your business actually works: what's going well, what keeps coming back to you, where your time and energy are going, and where you want more room.
From there, Energy Mapping™ looks at what gives you energy, what drains it, what you're carrying that the business could carry instead, and what might become possible if you weren't holding quite so much.
Then we identify where I can make the biggest difference. That might mean taking ownership of a special project, exploring an opportunity, untangling a challenge, organizing knowledge, rethinking a workflow, or using AI to help move work forward more easily.
Because getting time back is only part of it. What matters is what becomes possible when you have more room for the work only you can do.
The Approach
01 — Listen
Before jumping to solutions, I take the time to understand what's actually going on—how the business works, what's going well, what keeps coming back to you, and what needs more attention than it's getting.
Every engagement begins with The Listening™—a collaborative working session designed to understand the business, the founder, and where you want to go next.
What this might include:
Leadership conversations
Current challenges and opportunities
Business knowledge and ways of working
Goals and priorities
Projects or ideas that aren't moving
02 — Map
Time is only part of the picture. We also look at energy.
Through Energy Mapping™, we identify what gives you energy, what drains it, what you're carrying that someone—or something—else could carry, and where creating more room could make the biggest difference.
Then we connect the dots and decide where to focus.
What this might include:
Energy Mapping™
Founder dependencies
Opportunities or challenges worth exploring
Projects that need ownership
Knowledge and workflow opportunities
Priorities and recommended next steps
03 — Move
This is where we turn the thinking into action.
Depending on what we uncover, I might take ownership of a special project, research and shape an opportunity, untangle a challenge, find and coordinate the right people, organize knowledge, improve a workflow, or use AI where it genuinely makes the work easier.
The work is shaped around what the situation actually needs—not a predetermined solution.
That might include:
Special projects and new initiatives
Research, recommendations and decision support
Partner, vendor or resource sourcing
Project planning and execution
Business and team knowledge
Intelligent Workflows
AI assistants and practical automation
SOPs, documentation and workflow improvements
And then, we evolve.
Sometimes a project is complete when the work is done. Other times, one project reveals the next opportunity.
For clients who want ongoing support, I can stay involved as a thought partner and doer—taking on new projects, refining what's working, and helping navigate what comes next.
Ongoing partnership might include:
New special projects and opportunities
Regular working sessions
Research and strategic problem-solving
Intelligent Workflow refinement
New uses for AI
Knowledge and system improvements
Quarterly planning and priorities
Ways to Work Together

PROJECTS
Special Projects
Bring me something important that needs figuring out and moving forward. An opportunity to explore, an idea to shape, a challenge to untangle, or a project that needs someone to take ownership and run with it.
Depending on what the work needs, that may include research, strategy, coordination, execution, or an Intelligent Workflow.
